Memorial, a gift from the Classes of 1968 and 2003, was dedicated Oct. 17. The monument, located on campus at the corner of Coke and Lubbock streets, was created to honor Aggies who have given their lives to combat terrorism, and for those who guard and protect the U.S. from terrorist attacks. The memorial was designed by Texas A&M graduate architecture students and is rich with symbolism.
Texas A&M At Galveston Continues School Inland
Damage from Hurricane Ike's Sept. 13 landfall temporarily closed Texas A&M-Galveston, bringing more than 1,500 Sea Aggies to College Station to finish out the semester. Sept. 23 was the first day on campus for many of Texas A&M-Galveston's students and professors. Housing for the students was found across town, in dorms, apartments and private homes. Galveston administrators say classes will most likely resume in Galveston next semester.
Maroon Out Oklahoma
This year's Maroon Out game is scheduled for Nov. 8 when the Aggies take on the Oklahoma Sooners. Maroon Out started in 1998 as a way to build unity in the Aggie community, unify the 12th Man and provide extra support for the team. The tradition continues. T-shirts are $5 each and can be purchased online or at G. Rollie White Coliseum during the four hours leading up to every home football game. |
