Alumnus Bill Bue, Jr. Contributes $50,000 to ESEF Endowment

Early in 2004, alumnus Bill Bue, Jr., contributed $50,000 to the ESEF Endowment Fund. Due in part to his generous donation, the Endowment Fund balance is now more than $625,000. In appreciation of his gift, Bue, Jr., was awarded a lifetime membership in the Superintendent's Roundtable at the April 2004 meeting.

The contribution was inspired after selling a company that he and his wife Kim had owned for some time. "We started to select the organizations that we believe in and feel are important to support," says Bue, Jr. They chose the El Segundo Educational Foundation he says, for three reasons, "I really enjoyed growing up there, my parents

have been very involved in the community, and many of the people I grew up with and went to school with now have their own children attending school in El Segundo. I wanted to give back so that those children could have the opportunities I had while I was there."

Bill Bue, Jr. is a 1969 graduate of El Segundo High School. He occasionally has a chance to return to El Segundo and visit his parents who still live on Center Street. Bill and Kim recently relocated to Austin, Texas, where they live near beautiful Lake Travis.
