Faith and Family Influence Youth's Happiness

MTV and The Associated Press has released an in-depth study on happiness and young people: how happy they are, what makes them happy and what they're doing to ensure future happiness.

The findings show that young people (13-24) today are generally very happy, optimistic about the future and have goals in place to achieve a happier tomorrow. At the same time, the results paint a complex portrait of today's youth, with happiness varying greatly along racial lines, and with faith and family playing an important role in the pursuit of happiness.
Top 10 Surnames in the U.S.
Smith remains the most common surname in the United States, according to recent analysis by the Census Bureau. For the first time, two Hispanic surnames--Garcia and Rodriguez--are among the top 10 most common in the nation, and Martinez nearly edged out Wilson for 10th place.

The number of Hispanics living in the United States grew by 58% in the 1990s to nearly 13% of the total population and cracked the list of top 10 names, suggesting how pervasively the Latino migration has permeated everyday American culture.
Broadband Now in 50% of US Homes
Half of all Americans now have broadband Internet access at home, marking the first time that 50% of respondents have said they have high-speed connections at home, according to the Pew Internet Project’s September 2007 survey.

Canada reportedly passed the 50% threshold in 2005, according to the latest CRTC Telecom Monitoring Report, and more than 60% of Canadian households now have broadband Internet access. Canada and the U.S. are ranked 9th and 15th respectively amongst OECD countries in terms of broadband penetration, behind Denmark, the Netherlands, Iceland, Korea, Switzerland, Norway, Finland and Sweden.
