From January 5-8, 2006, over 150 undergraduates, alumni, faculty members, and staff gathered in St. Louis, Missouri for the Presidents Leadership Conference (PLC). This is the seventh consecutive year for the PLC, to which presidents from all Phi Delta Theta chapters, colonies, and interest groups are invited.

For three days, presidents engaged in fellowship and discussion on how to effectively execute their office and work in conjunction with their recruitment
chairman to learn how to grow their entire organization. The event headquartered at the Renaissance Hotel near the St. Louis Airport, was described by many in attendance as "one of the most focused, and driven PLCs to date."

During the conference, Dr. Thomas J. "Sparky" Reardon, Ole Miss '72, was awarded the FIRST Phi Delta Theta HERO award. Dr. Reardon was recognized for his passionate and relentless pursuit of the elimination of hazing throughout the Greek community.

The conference culminated with a passionate address from respected motivational speaker, Dr. Will Keim. His speech titled "Leadership in the 21st century", encouraged the presidents in attendance to follow through on the goals they made while at PLC.

The PLC is funded in part through a grant from the Phi Delta Theta Educational Foundation.

The Fraternity, spurred by glowing feedback from last summer's Emerging Leaders Institute, conducted the first-ever Recruitment Boot Camp (RBC) simultaneously with PLC. Recruitment chairmen from 100 chapters, colonies, and interest groups were invited to attend this event held at the St. Louis Airport Marriott.

Lead facilitator for RBC was David Stollman. A member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, he is a partner in CampuSpeak, a New York-based organization that provides speakers and facilitators to colleges, Greek organizations, and student organizations on a variety of campus issues.

"The Recruitment Boot Camp is the premiere recruitment institution in the fraternity world today. It's an incredibly intensive program that allows chapters to strategically take a look at how they promote their values, utilize their membership, and plan in terms of recruitment," said Sean Wagner, Director of Expansion. "All chapters walk away from the weekend with a list of obtainable and measurable goals that will help them alter the way their chapter does recruitment. We expect to see direct results from this program within the next year and a half."
