Return of the Past and Beginning of the New
Iowa State regains chapter status for the first time since 1999-2000 and the University of Maryland to become Phi Psi’s 149th chapter
In 1852 William Henry Letterman and Charles Paige Thomas Moore created an opportunity that has now made an impact on the lives of more than 100,000 men. On September 29, 2007 Phi Psi will install its 149th chapter at the University of Maryland and will expand its founder’s vision to yet another group. Shortly thereafter on October 27, 2007, the Executive Council along with local alumni, community members and university officials, Phi Psi will re-charter its chapter at the University of Iowa. These two groups complement Phi Psi’s stronghold of representation at over 104 colleges and universities throughout the country. The groups’ members have established themselves within the campus communities by achieving outstanding GPAs, participating in numerous philanthropic activities and obtaining various campus leadership positions.
As the Fraternity prepares to charter these two groups and welcome over 80 new individuals to the brotherhood, all alumni are encouraged to attend all or parts of the chartering festivities. While each initiated brother, the experience is unique and memorable, witnessing the excitement and pride of creating a new chapter is definitely inimitable.
