Donation from a Distance
Thousands of miles away from his alma mater in Denton, Texas, Brother Matthew Yates (North Texas) made it his duty to give back to the fraternity that influenced his life, his heart, and his career.
Just a few months ago, Yates joined the Founders Club through an online donation - his first ever - and sealed his commitment to give back to the organization that he says helped him grow as a person, taught him leadership skills, and was his home away from home during college.

Epsilon Mu's Scholarship Program Breeds Success
Six years ago, a group of dedicated alumni took their vision for a "different kind of fraternity" and re-colonized the Epsilon Mu Chapter at Butler University. Alumni advisor Dick Thompson (Butler) says, "We wanted to make the fraternity different from what was already on campus." So, they emphasized Sigma Nu's strong stance against hazing and implemented grade point average standards. To reward students for academic excellence, they also began a scholarship program, awarding grants to any student living in the house who earns a 3.0 or better.
Despite caution from university officials, the chapter has attracted successful students, created an environment of care |

and responsibility for Fraternity property, and they have generously rewarded chapter brothers with thousands of dollars to help advance their academic interests and potential. Last spring, nine brothers earned a 4.0, while the chapter boasted a GPA of 3.38, the highest they've ever attained. |
