Fraters,

I would like to start by saying thank you to the donors who keep the TKE Educational Foundation active.  The TKE Educational Foundation is responsible for awarding named scholarships, chapter scholarships, and selecting the All-Teke Academic Team.  I believe that rewarding these distinctions is not only beneficial to the recipient but to all bodies of Tau Kappa Epsilon.  Providing these scholarships to students in a time of need will ensure future benefits to the fraternity, because with time, these recipients will become donors.

Personally, I will be using my scholarship funds from the All-Teke Academic Team for medical school application fees.  Tau Kappa Epsilon has really helped me to go after my dreams of becoming a physician.
Without the support of the administration and faculty at Saint Francis, and, more importantly, the encouragement from my brothers, I don't think this would be possible.  I believe that achieving a goal without the help of others is a tough feat to take on.  Luckily, I haven't run into this endeavor yet.

I have had the opportunity to experience many great things in TKE, but I took pride most in leading the chapter as the Prytanis.  Because our chapter was just forming as I took office, it was my responsibility to provide growth and stability to the Delta Phi Chapter.  The brothers all worked very hard in every aspect to get us to where we are now.  However, without the alumni donors and our advisor, Father Gabriel Zeis, providing us with both financial and moral support, it is hard to say where we would be today.

With this said, I believe it is very important to help provide to the cause which had once impacted you.  Some donate to their alma mater, their athletic team, or their fraternity or sorority.  In any case, what is important is the matter of putting forth an effort where your help is needed.

YITB,
Jonathan Pollock
