A Circle of Support

A big William Jewell thank you to the 108 individuals who have joined the Circle of 1849 giving society so far this year!

Named for the year of the College's founding, the Circle of 1849 is the College's premiere annual giving society. Any donor to the Jewell Fund is eligible for membership in the Circle of 1849 by providing a gift (or series of gifts) of $1,000 or more during a given fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). Last year, the inaugural year for the Circle of 1849, a total of 134 donors became first-time members.

As a thank you to all first-time members, a brick will be installed in your name on the Quad. And did you know that this year, all first-time members of the Circle of 1849 will have their gifts matched up to $1,000? Through the Shumaker Challenge, Dianne (Jeter) Shumaker '66 will provide up to a $1,000 match for all new gifts to the Circle of 1849 this year.

A list of the individuals who have joined the Circle of 1849 so far this year can be viewed below. Are you interested in joining this list? Visit the Circle of 1849 web page for more information, or provide a gift via our secure online donation page.

The following individuals have provided a gift of $1,000 or more to the Jewell Fund between the beginning of our fiscal year (July 1, 2005) and January 31st.
