A Circle of Support A big William Jewell thank you to the 150 individuals who joined the Circle of 1849 giving society for fiscal year 2005-06! As a thank you to all first-time members, a brick will be installed in your name on the Quad. Named for the year of the College's founding, the Circle of 1849 is the College's premier annual giving society. Any donor to the Jewell Fund is eligible for membership in the Circle of 1849 by providing a gift (or series of gifts) of $1,000 or more during a given fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). In 2004-2005, the inaugural year for the Circle of 1849, a total of 134 donors became first-time members.
