PARENTS/GRANDPARENTS WEEKEND HELD SEPTEMBER 30

Betsy, left, and Julie Bramon, right, share in their grandmother Nina Bramons’ joy at being named Grandparent
of the Year
Gerald and Nina Bramon were named Grandparents of the Year on September 30 during the annual Parents and Grandparents Day ceremonies at William Jewell College. They were nominated by granddaughters Betsy and Julie Bramon, students at William Jewell. Betsy, a senior pursuing a self-designed major and Julie, a junior majoring in art.

Among many other wonderful comments contained in their nomination, the girls also said of their grandparents that "these two people compose such an embodiment of all my sisters and I could ever wish to aspire to. We’ve seen their warmth and generosity of time, of teaching, their tireless patience, their stubborn, determined will, and their love that is so encompassing and so devoted, a love that
is honest, abrupt, playful and disciplined." Tara Seals' mother, Lynetta, was selected as Parent of the Year. In Tara's essay nominating her mother, she noted she was thankful for her mother's dedication. Tara wrote the essay because she wanted to let her mother know how much she was appreciated.

Participants at Parents and Grandparents Weekend toured the residence halls, met with faculty and staff, and enjoyed a reception, Symphonic Band concert and a convocation service at which the Parent and Grandparent of the Year were honored.
